Rev. Gregory M. Perkins, Sr., went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 16, 2021, peacefully in his home.

He was born November 6, 1946, in Pittsburgh, as son of the late Morris and Amy Perkins.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bridgeville, PA. He was named Elder at Lakeview Christian Center in Bridgeville, PA. He was licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel at Christian Temple, Bloomfield, PA, and was the leader of the Outreach Ministry called the "DO TEAM", bringing souls to the Lord with powerful street meetings. He recently Founded and Pastored the Church of South Hills in Cuddy, PA. With his outgoing and loving spirit he was well known as a man of faith with a giving heart. He attended Chartiers Valley School District and went to Howard University in Washington DC, there he joined the ROTC and later proudly served the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War. After serving and fighting in the Viet Nam War he worked at Columbia Gas in Administration later learning masonry then retiring and owned his own business as Cement Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Perkins, on July 15, 2020; his daughter, Thelma, and son, Samuel.

Surviving are a son, Gregory (Sherry) Perkins, Jr. of Greentree, PA; a daughter, Lisa (Joseph) Daugherty of Cuddy, PA; two grandsons, Gregory Perkins, III, and Evan Perkins of Greentree, PA; two sisters, Elaine (Fred) Perkins-Melvin of Atlanta, GA, Gail Taylor, of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and relatives.

Arrangements by BEINHAUER. Family and friends will be received at a Wake on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Beinhauer-Fryer Funeral Home, 403 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA, 6 to 8 p.m. Invitation only -the funeral service to remember, honor, and celebrate his life will be held, Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 12 pm, with Rev. Lorraine Williams of Pittsburgh, PA, presiding. His interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA, at 1:30 p.m. A special thank you to the Gallagher Hospice nurses and to the nurse Shauna at The Grove in Washington, PA.
