Geraldine "Gerri" D. Wall, 78, passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2020. She was born on October 11, 1942 in Clayton, NC to the late Clarence and Ima Overby Davis.
Gerri graduated from Clayton High School in 1960 and married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Wall, in 1961. During her young adult years, Gerri was a devoted stay at home mother to her 3 children. She returned to the workplace and worked for Champion Products in Clayton, NC for more than 30 years. Afterwards, her career took her to Edward Jones Investments where she served as a Broker's Assistant for over a decade. Her love of children then led her to become an elementary school Teacher's Assistant until she retired in 2011.
In her free time, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with the family she loved so dearly. She was a devoted wife of 59 years and a loving mother to 3 children and Granny to 3 grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her family, she loved gardening and sitting on her screened-in porch birdwatching with her husband. She also had a love of collecting jewelry. As much as she appreciated collecting it, she also loved sharing the beautiful trinkets with her family.
She was survived by her beloved husband, Glenn Wall, for a short 6 days. She is currently survived by her 3 adoring children, Katherine Wall, Donna Wall Canipe (Jeffrey), and David Wall (Denise); her 3 loving granddaughters, Ashley Tucker, Hannah Canipe, and Britney Wall; and her brother, Clarence O. Davis, Jr (Joyce).
In addition to her parents, Gerri was preceded in death by two of her children, Johnny and Jimmy Wall; and her brother, Eddie D. Davis. A graveside memorial service for Gerri and her husband will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton, NC.
