Peggy Sue Thigpen, 67, of Moss Bluff died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 in her residence with her family by her side.
Mrs. Thigpen was born on January 7, 1941 in Stamps, Ark. and lived in Louisiana since 1969. She was a graduate of Stamps High School. Mrs. Thigpen was a member of Apostolic Temple since 1978 where she was a member of the Jail Ministries.
She was a self-employed house keeper and full time mom.
Her passions in life were her family, church, and music. She also enjoyed game shows and crossword puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her five daughters, Cynthia Pettifield and husband Johnny of Topsy, Lisa Hatch, Jerri Rodgers, and Sherri Duke, all of Moss Bluff, and Carla Dartez and husband Stewart of Ragley; two brothers, Ossie Norton of LeBleu Settlement and Lynn Norton of Topsy; one sister, Judy Lyons of Hammond; 10 grandchildren, Angie, Johnny, Jeffrey, Charles, Christa, Joey, Shannon, Whitney, Danner, and Skyler; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alexis, and Tiffany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thigpen.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Apostolic Temple. The Rev. Ricky Treece will officiate. Burial will be in Creel Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home and from 8 a.m. Sunday in the church until time of services.
