Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allphin were two honored pioneer settlers of Schuyler county.
They were married in this county April 3, 1848, and for more than seventy years this union of hearts remained unbroken. Their many old friends in west Schuyler, who will remember this venerable couple, will be grieved to learn of Mrs. Allphin's death, which occurred at Walla Walla, Wash., on Dec. 14th.
We take the following notice of her death from the Walla Walla Union of Dec.15th:
Mrs. Hannah Allphin, wife of Henry Allphin, died at 8 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. P. Hooper.
Mrs. Allphin would have celebrated her 90th birthday April 5, 1919.
The Allphins had been married more than 70 years. They celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary April 3, 1918, with a big family reunion at the home of their daughter, with whom they have been living for about three years.
