Margaret "Peggy" Jones Traskos Blake, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021 at Gladeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. She was 88. Peggy was born on November 19, 1932, in Hebron, Connecticut to the late Benjamin Archer Jones Sr. and Dora (Scranton) Jones; and grew up in Hebron. She, along with her late husband Maurice H. Blake, owned several restaurants, most, notably Maurice's Restaurant on Town Street in East Haddam. She enjoyed birdwatching, playing cards, spending time with her family, and eating lunch every day at the East Haddam Senior Center. She was a past member of the American Legion, Baron-Smith-Golec Post 156 in Moodus and the American Legion Post 95 Women's Auxiliary in Hebron, and was active with the Red Hat Society as well as with the Jones Buzzing Cousins. She was resilient, strong, and inspiring to all of those lucky enough to know her. Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Lynn Gobelle and her husband Steven of East Haddam, Deborah Angersola and her husband David of Chester; three sons, Andrew Traskos Jr. and his wife Theresa of Lynn, Massachusetts, David Traskos and his wife Susan of Clinton, and Gordon Blake and his wife Pamela of Guyton, Georgia; sister Ruth Flemke of East Hampton; brothers Robert Jones of Colchester and Kenneth Jones of East Hampton; eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her Husband Maurice H. Blake, brothers Sidney Jones and Benjamin Jones, and sisters Edith Trudo, Betty Lussier, and Melissa Emerson. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11 AM directly at the Indian River Cemetery, on Cemetery Road in Clinton. Peggy's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Gladeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for their care, compassion, and devotion to all residents, especially during this difficult time.
