85, of Lowell, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by children, Cheryl (John) Kniaz, Stephen (Sue Ellen), Karen (Mark Battin) Clarke, Susan (Rich) Mender; grandchildren; Lauren (Kevin) Heisler, Jason (Marcie) Kniaz, Kaitlyn (Thomas) Essman, Adam Clarke, Brendan (Carly) Clarke, Samuel Clarke, Mark (Crystal) Battin, Julian, Emily and Grace Battin, Allison, Justin and Eric Mender; 12 great grandchildren; his sweetheart, Kathleen Clott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; parents, Raymond and Ruby Clarke. Steve received an MBA from University of Chicago. He served as a School Board member for District 149-Dolton, IL; POA Board member for Courtyards of Meadowbrook; and a longtime member of the Wooden Shoe Rainmaker Camping Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to PanCan-Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Private Funeral Services entrusted to Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services., Lowell.
