George Edgar Martin was born on 12 April 1888 in Athens, Mercer County, WV, a son of William Harvey Martin and his first wife Martha Ann White Martin. George, 27, married Hattie M. Prichard, 20, in 1915 in Mercer County. They had a daughter, Gladys Mae Martin, in 1919. Hattie died in 1920. George married Beatrice Belcher in 1921 in Mercer County. Mr. Martin died on 6 February 1969 in Princeton, Mercer County. He was a retired merchant and miner. Mr. Martin was a veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hattie and several brothers and sisters. Survivors included his wife Beatrice; daughter Gladys Martin Fletcher; grandson Robert Wilson Fletcher; six half-sisters, Russie Martin Staunton, Mabel Martin Brown, Annie Martin Stanley, Una Martin Craig, Sylvia Martin Metz and Florence Martin Huff; and two half-brothers, Eugene Martin and Hugh French Martin. Funeral services were held in the chapel at Memorial Funeral Directory, Princeton, with the Rev. T.D. Dickerson and the Rev. Donald Barnes officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Princeton.
