"Pauline Frances Schaaf peacefully passed away on Friday, May 16, 2008, in Tucson, Ariz., following her long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Pauline was born in Brownsburg on Aug. 10, 1922, to Effie and Elmer Smith. She married her true love, Armel Lamoine Schaaf, on Aug. 15, 1945, and enjoyed 34 years of love and happiness before his passing in 1980.

Pauline was a loving, caring woman who always put the needs of others before her own, even near death. Her beautiful blue eyes, heartfelt smile, tender touch, love and gentle ways drew everyone she knew to love her. Her role as homemaker was her pride and joy. She was a faithful member of Mount Tabor Primitive Baptist Church in Indiana.

She is survived by two daughters, Francine (Donald) Wilson and Darlene (James) Phillips; four grandchildren, Brian (Candice) Wilson, Traci (Joe) Berlingieri, Steven (Aimee) Wilson and Brandon (Bonnie) Weasner; two great-grandsons, Colin Wilson and Nathaniel Berlingieri. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Annalee Schaaf, and many nieces and nephews.
The youngest of six siblings, Euliss, Lawrence, Violet, Ruby and Lillian, all preceded her in death along with their spouses. Also preceding her in death were Norman Schaaf, brother-in-law and Louise Schaaf, sister-in-law.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Adair Funeral Home, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern, in Tucson, Ariz. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. June 21 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown, where she will be laid to rest next to Armel for eternal peace on earth and in heaven.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice."
