Diane was the wife of Theron David Carter and the devoted mother of Joshua David Carter.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was baptized at an early age. As time progressed, she later joined and faithfully attended The Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church in Reserve, LA, under the leadership of Senior Pastor David B. Carter. Diane was a very friendly person who loved giving.
Di, as she was affectionately known by most, enjoyed spending time with family, cracking jokes, laughing, attending the University of New Orleans Women’s Basketball games, and cheering for her favorite NFL team, the Chicago Bears.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Theron David Carter of Metairie, LA; son, Joshua David Carter of Metairie, LA; siblings, Johnny Rawls Jr. of Waycross, GA and Stephen Keith Coleman of Shreveport, LA; father-in-law, Senior Pastor David B. Carter (whom she loved and faithfully called “Padre”) of Reserve, LA; mother-in-law, Carroll Crayton-Carter of Reserve, LA; sisters-in-law Karen Carter-Victor (Chester) of Laplace, LA, Keeshawn Carter-Davenport (Deon, Sr.) of Reserve, LA and Kesha Carter of Laplace, LA; Godchildren, Vance and Makayla Jackson of Hammond, LA; devoted life-long friend, Che’ Jackson of Hammond, LA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and devoted Fresenius’ Dialysis workers.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Huggins and Grace Coleman-Huggins and brother, Phillip Gaither Coleman.
A memorial service honoring the life of Diane Yvonne Huggins-Carter will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10am at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E Airline Hwy, Gramercy, LA 70052.
