Robert L. Sawyer, age 85, of Jefferson City, born September 5, 1935, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Robert was saved several years ago and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry L. Sawyer; parents, R.P. and Pearl Sawyer; sister, Pauline Noe, Mary Ruth Pendleton, Edith Carpenter, Carolyn Jones, and Marie Gaddis. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Lillie J. Sawyer; children, Eva (Pat) Dockery of Thorn Hill, Virginia (Jim) Russell of Knoxville, Larry Dalton of Morristown, Brillia (Terry) Pollard, Major (Lea) Dalton of Knoxville, Regina Burgin of Morristown, and Tammy Mabe of Rutledge; brothers, R.P. (Pearl) Sawyer and Harvey Sawyer, both of Morristown; sisters, Margaret Trent of Morristown, Virginia Veale of Florida, and Betty Thompson of Jefferson City; eighteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A family visitation will be on Friday, January 22nd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23rd at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Lonnie Dalton officiating Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
