During her life, Louise experienced the Great Depression, her parents provided for a family of eight children, taught family unity and devotion to their faith. She lived through WW 2 , her husband Ceylon serving in the USN in both the Atlantic and Pacific. Louise supported her family, community, and war efforts at home during that time. Louise has always been a staunch supporter of her family, faith and country. Faith and Family a theme most important throughout Louise’s life. She was the most wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother always putting others before herself. She loved being a homemaker; cooking, baking, canning, gardening and sewing. She loved music and walking. She could be seen walking in her community with her walker till she turned 101. She taught Sunday school for years at the First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles, NY, was a member of The Borodino, NY Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and worked making floral arrangements. She and her husband travelled to Japan, Hawaii, Scotland, Belgium, France, Holland, England as well as throughout the United States. Her favorite color was blue.
Louise is survived by her Daughter Gail Hunter (son-in-law Terry) and son David Russell (Daughter-in-law Barbara); sisters Jean Chilson and Betsy Roberts; grandchildren Drew and Lori Hunter, Brandon and Beth Hunter, Erika and John Checco and Blair and Jolyn Russell; great-grandchildren Natalie and Rachel Hunter; Meghan and Jack Hunter; Abigail, Lilly, Joseph, and James Checco; Keane, Syden and Palen Russell.
Memorial arrangements are not known at this time. Burial will be on June 12th, 2021 in Lakeview Cemetery, Skaneateles, NY.
