Archie Harold Christensen was born on January 25, 1916 in Cosmo Township, Kearney County, NE to Mads C. and Minnie J. Warp Christensen. He passed away on October 5, 2012 at his home north of Ainsworth, NE.

The family bought a place south of Bassett, NE and moved from Kearney County when Archie was a young boy. He graduated from Rock County High School with the class of 1934. His parents later purchased a farm and moved one and a half miles north of Ainsworth, NE in 1949. Archie worked as a carpenter in Marshall, MN for a time before going to California to take a job as a welder at Lockheed Aircraft Factory. He entered the Army Air Force in 1942 and took basic training in Kearns, UT. He was a crew chief and spent time in England, Ireland, France and Scotland and was discharged as a Private First Class from Ft. Leonard Wood, MO in 1945. After the service he went to Chicago, IL and worked for his uncle, Harold Warp, in the Warp Flex-O-Glass plant until he was needed to help on the family farm. Archie was united in marriage to Audrey E. Brewer on August 17, 1956 at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ainsworth, NE. To this union two sons were born, Robert L. "Bob" and Kent A. Chrstensen.

Archie loved the land and raised corn and alfalfa, fed cattle, and milked cows by hand until milking machines came along, (this was the "twice a day, every day chore.") Archie and Audrey spent the last 26 winters in Apache Junction, AZ. To keep busy in retirement, he enjoyed wood carving and making pop can airplanes for friends. He was a member of the Ainsworth American Legion Post #79 for 41 years.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Mads and Minnie; one sister, Helen Andersen; two brothers, Marlin "Bud" Christensen and Robert "Bob" Christensen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey, of Ainsworth, NE; sons, Bob Christensen of Apache Junction, AZ and Kent Christensen and special friend, Mindy Van Sickle of Ainsworth, NE; Brother Delbert L. Christensen of Green Lake, WI; Brothers-in-law, Elmer Andersen of Ainsworth, NE and Ronald Brewer of Pittsburg, CA; Five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
