He served in the U.S. Army. He loved bowling, LSU Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. He is survived his wife Sue Marie Merrill Travis who he married 30 August 1973 and his many children from both his two marriages. He is also survived by his 3 brothers, Jimmy Dale Travis, Dennis Michael Travis, and David Norris "Butch" Rowell. He was preceded in death by his parents Loyd Travis and Rowena Mavis Rowell Travis. A daughter, Judy Lynn Travis. His first wife, Bettie Jo Cummings Travis, they were married on 11 June 1965 till 4 January 1973. He was also preceded in death by a brother William Loyd "Bill"Travis, a sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Barrow Travis and a granddaughter Mallory Jordan Cummings.He was cremated and had full Military Honors by the United States Army Honor Guard. The Honorary Casketbearers were Lester Gitre, Lester Gitre Jr., Bobby Travis, David Travis, Johnny Travis, Tyler Trout.
