Robert "Bob" York - 1951 - 2021

OBITUARY Courtesy of Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home

Robert (Bob) York Jr. left this earth on the beautiful sunny morning of Sunday, January 17th, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. Bob’s health began to rapidly decline after he suffered a stroke in early November, shortly before Bob and his wife, Brenda’s 12th wedding anniversary. Much appreciation goes to the staff at West Florida Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, and Hospice (specially Stephanie, & Jerika) for all their care and understanding while caring for Bob these past few months. Bob was born September 10th 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Robert Sr. and Martha Servansky York. From the time he entered this world he brought joy and happiness to all he met. He never met a stranger and all were welcomed into his life with open arms. Bob loved spending his days with his family and friends cooking, gardening, playing with his furbabies Duke, Smokey, and Tuppy. He enjoyed watching old westerns and on sunny days he enjoyed taking his bride out on motorcycle rides to enjoy the fresh air while making rounds to friends and families homes for visits. Bob served our country proudly in the United States Airforce and retired from the Navy.

Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife Brenda York and daughter Lisa Griffin (Alfonza) of Crestview, Florida who was by his side until the very end; brother, Donald (Bonnie) York of Belleville, Illinois; brother, Bruce York of Fort Walton Beach, FL; sister, Darlene (Reid) Burlingham of Simpsonville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Merceades, Jasmine, Destiny, and Nikolas; great grandch8ilkdren, Diondrauiz, and Aniya; many nieces and nephews, and numerous other family, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry Bob in their heart. He will truly be missed and forever loved.

Services will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home and Barrancas National Cemetery at a pending time and date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com
