Fred Wallace Harper, 86, of Milton, FL passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Mr. Harper was born August 4, 1934 in Houston County to Arthur Mitchell and Minnie T. Maddox Harper.
Fred was a 1952 graduate of Cottonwood High School and moved to Pensacola/Milton where he resided for over 63 years. He retired from Monsanto doing Electrical/Instrument Maintenance in 1990. He was a devout Christian and a member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church where he actively served as the original Treasurer while building the Pine Terrace Mission, Deacon, grounds maintenance and various roles wherever he was needed.
Fred was a loving husband, father and friend to all. He touched most people's lives in some fashion and was kind and generous in all he did. Fred enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time at his retirement fishing "camp".
In addition to his parents, Mr. Harper is predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Don and Raymond, and sisters, Bernell Averett and Laura Dickerson.
Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Erie Nelda Pynes Harper; son, Stanley Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Scott Wilder; two granddaughters, Julie and Christine Wilder; brother, Arthur Mitchell Harper Jr; several nieces and nephews.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2020 at Serenity Gardens, 6208 Stewart St, Milton, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Terrace Baptist Church.
