Michael Edward Oliver was born on April 27, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Dorothy Oliver and Herman Scott.

He was baptized at an early age by his grandfather, Rev. Stroy Freeman, the founder of New Friendship M. B. Church in Chicago, Illinois. It was at New Friendship he found hope in Christ as his Savior. He participated in all the youth activities at New Friendship, especially since his grandfather was the Pastor.

On August 31, 1972 at the age of 18, he enlisted into the United States Army and served until 1974. Later in lived he lived in Arkadelphia and was a former employee of International Paper.

Michael passed from this life on Sunday, November 8, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Marie Freeman Oliver – October 21, 2016; and his brother, Kevin Oliver – November 8, 2019.

He leaves his wife Yvonne Oliver of Little Rock, AR; his children, Donnie Oliver of Spring, TX, Martha Hendrix of Little Rock, AR, and Michelle Oliver of Malvern, AR; his father, Herman Scott; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his cousins, Andrea Freeman of Chicago, IL, Yvette Marie Freeman of Calumet City, IL, Yvette Marie Farmer of Calumet City, IL and Dr. Kieya King of Champaign, IL; Crystal Brittian and Pamela Harris of Moline, IL whom he cherished as a sisters; and an aunt, Dr. Dolores Freeman of Glenwood, IL.

Private graveside services were held at 12 noon at Mitchell-Crite Cemetery in the Richmond Hill Community with Rev. Llewellyn E. Terry, Sr., officiating.
