She was born on December 31, 1927 in Iredell County, North Carolina to the late John Monroe and Fannie Reid Blackwelder. Mrs. Parker was a long time member of Shearer Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, North Carolina. She loved sewing, flower gardening, the beach, and enjoyed time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Parker; brothers, Reid J. Blackwelder and John R. Blackwelder; and sister, Lucy Phifer.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her children, James Parker and wife, Marie, Annie “Sissy†Owens and husband, Sonny, Wayne Parker and wife, Susan, Sarah Hager and husband, Dwight, Marshall Parker and wife, DeeAnne, Lula “Tater†Scaglione and husband, Jimmy; sisters, Elsie McConnell, Sarah Cecil; grandchildren, Stacey Freeman, Allen Hager, Josh Owens, Jennifer Cartee, David Parker, Kelly Warlick; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11 at Shearer Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen Stout officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
