There is another bright star in Heaven. God called another one of his children home, His son, Louis G. Meyers, Jr.

Louis passed away on January 17, 2021 in Shreveport, LA after long time failing health problems.

Louis was born in Pleasant Hill, LA on May 29, 1945. He lived in Zwolle his whole life.

Louis was a man who met no strangers, always ready to help until his health started failing. He loved hunting, camping and sports: basketball, football, Nascar and dirt track racing. He loved spending time with his four grandchildren, the loves of his life.

Louis loved to bar-b-que, boil crawfish and make candy for Christmas.

He was an active member of the Zwolle Jaycees and the Knights of Columbus Council 4818. He had been an Euctrist Minister, usher and a council member at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. National Guard. He has volunteered for the Zwolle Fire Department and coached several Little League ball teams.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia (Bison) Meyers; daughter, Lori Crittenden; son, Kenneth Meyers and wife Tobi (McNeely) Meyers; granddaughter, Valen (Crittenden) Rodrigues and husband Ryan; grandsons, Lathan Scott Meyers and Jordan Derek Crittenden and fiancé Jocelyn Cannon; granddaughter, Olivia Faith Crittenden; and his five little 4-footed pets: Max, Levi, Hoss, Carlos and Sasha.

Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis G. Meyers, Sr. and mother, Evelyn (Sistrunk) Meyers; sister, Emilie Maxey and infant son, Derek Scott Meyers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joseph Martina officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
