John Roy Irvin Jr died on January 14,2021 at Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville, of natural causes.

The funeral service was held on January 20,2021 at1 pm at Taylor's Funeral Home in Hopkinsville.

A native of Christian County, he was born on August 4, 1948, the son of the late John Roy Irvin Sr. and the late Ella Jones.

He was a member of Montgomery Elizabeth Baptist Church. He served in the US Army and reserves for many years and he also fought for his country in the Vietnam War and retired with honors and he also worked as a dispatcher at the Hopkinsville police/ fire department for 25 years before retirement.

He is survived by his wife Debbie C. Irvin of Hopkinsville; daughters, Shannon Gardner, and Crystal Richards both of Hopkinsville; sister, Elizabeth M. Thomas of Evansville, Indiana; God-sister, Retha Beckham of Louisville; a host of grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
