Jess Delmar Poyser, age 93, of Syracuse, In, formerly of Cromwell, passed away on Monday January 18, 2021. He was born on December 19, 1927 in Ligonier, IN to Michael “George” & Gertrude “Ethel” (Hursey) Poyser. On July 13, 1948 in South Whitley, IN he married Annie Mae (Kuhn). She preceded him in death in 1999.
Mr. Poyser worked for Cromwell Lumber Company and Starcraft for many years. He was a jack of all trades. He and his wife enjoyed a crafting business and traveled around to craft shows for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Mr. Poyser is survived by his children, John D. (Lucy) Poyser of Minooka,IL, Anita (Larry) Price of North Webster, Alyce M. Evans of Bremen, John Mock of Niles, MI, William L. (Mindy) Mock of Stone Lake, MI; 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sons, Jerry D. Poyser, Joseph D. Poyser, and Jeffrey D. Poyser; along with three brothers, Michael Arthur Poyser, Marvin Poyser, and Donald Poyser.
A funeral service will be held in Mr. Poyser’s honor on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 12 noon at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN. Pastor Tim Jones will officiate. Burial will follow Oak Grove Cemetery in North Webster where military honors will be conducted.
Family and friends will be received from 5-8 pm on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Yeager Funeral Home. 
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion, Post 243 in Ligonier or Post 253 North Webster.
