Gary Keith Gann, or “Foot” and “Gripe” to his family and friends, was born on October 15th, 1965 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of John and Ollie Mae (Turner) Gann. He was stubborn and set in his ways. He was very accident prone and was known to set himself or a barn on fire. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball with his brothers, he loved to cook for his family regardless of who’s kitchen he was in, and he enjoyed trying his hand at gardening. He took great pride in his plants. More than anything, Foot was a hunter. Be it alone or with his nephews, great stories and even better memories came from the adventures he would go on. He loved his family, but the love he had for his nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews was undeniable. From listening to the hunting dogs run coyotes on any of the many traveled back roads to hunting squirrels in what small patch of woods was available, he done his best his best to get them in the woods whenever they asked. He lived a simple life, he spent some time working for Thompson Construction , a few years working for Brian and Jerry Stanley as a farm hand or in the coyote pens, he enjoyed so much. He was featured in Hunter’s Horn Magazine after catching a coyote with his bare hands. But his most memorable moment was killing a deer with a rock because he ran out of bullets. He had also killed a rabbit with a cellphone.
He was a member of Johnson Prairie Church .
He passed from this life on January 17th, 2021 in Moody, OK.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Looney Gann and wife Daisy Killer-Gann, John Turner and wife Sallie Agent –Turner, and his mother Ollie Mae Gann and father, John Gann.
Those he leaves behind include his daughter, Ginae Gann of Kansas, OK, and his brothers and sisters, Anthony Gann of Oaks, OK, Jason Gann and wife Tosh of Moodys, OK, Joann Teehee and husband Dewayne of Moodys, OK, and Elrita Beaver of Sallisaw, OK. He lives on in his special nieces and special nephews, Justin Gann, Jonas Tehee, Zachary Gann, Preston Postoak, Amee Brown, Megan Tehee, Sydnee Gann, Nakayla Gann, Jacey Gann, and Priscilla Postoak. His great nieces and nephews include Taten “Hickory “ Peck, Jaylen Tehee, Jaden Gann, Brayten Smith, Isaiah Tehee, Telsa Gann, Mariah Gann, Kashyah Tehee, Kyrah Tehee, Embree Brown and Zylah Sawney, as well as many cousins and fellow travels he has met on the road to home.
