SEPTEMBER 11, 1947 – JANUARY 17, 2021
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Louis (Lou) Wayne Watson, of Donelson, TN on January 17th, 2021, at the age of 73.
Lou was born in Lebanon, TN at McFarland Hospital to Gordon and Tilda Watson. Lou worked for Brown Dental Lab and Nashville Dental Center as a technician. He was baptized and a faithful member of the Lebanon Road Church of Christ for more than 50 years.
Lou was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a gentle giant who was known for his baking and ice cream making skills. He spoke of the ladies at work always asking him when he is going to make another pie or cake, especially cheese cake! During the summer, it was expected that Lou would bring homemade ice cream, either peach or strawberry, that he made with his prized wooden hand cranked freezer to any family function.
Lou was known for many other things. He had a good sense of style. You could count on him wearing either his overalls, suspenders (usually red), belt buckles commemorating an event or festival, or a combination of the aforementioned! Lou loved his devoted basset hound, Ralph. He was also a loyal Nashville Sounds fan, having season tickets for many years. He also enjoyed bowling, and participated in many leagues.
Lou will sorely missed by his brother, Robert (Bob) Watson; nieces, Heather Watson and Rebecca Watson; cousins, Freddie, Billy, Sue, Ellen, Rachel, Joseph, Anthony, Emily, and Aunt Mary Renfro; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Services will be announced at a later date.
