Obituary:

Eric Anthony Bell, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1956, to Lucile Bell and Calvin Fielders in Chattanooga, Tn. He attended Howard High School, class of ’74. Eric was a member of Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, where he sang with the men’s choir, the mass choir, and the James Penny Youth and Young Adult Choir.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Caney and Marion Harris; paternal grandfather, William Bell; sister, Theresa Trammell; niece, Clarisa Trammell; and nephew, Aaron Trammell.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Lucile Bell; daughters, Erica (Terrance, Sr.) Hayes, Phelicia Grier, and Chantelle (Charles) Respert; brothers, Charles (Emma) Bell of Oak Ridge, TN and William (Sharon) Bell of Chattanooga; sister, Cassandra Jefferson of Chattanooga; grandsons, Erico Williams, Terrance Hayes, Jr., and Terron Hayes; dear friend, Regina Kelley-Starr; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Eric will lie in state on Friday, Jan. 22, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

A family service will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor R. Lavon Yates as the eulogist.
