Tommie Lee Chesteen who was born in Montgomery county September 3, 1903, passed away at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital on April 1st.

Funeral services were held, Wednesday morning, April 2nd at the Nations Poplar Creek Church with the Rev. V. H. Cross of Carthage assisted by the Rev. P. V. Moore and Rev. C. B. Hamlet of Winona officiating. Interment was in the Nations-Poplar Creek cemetery under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Pete Malone, Elwin Bridges, Bill Bridges, Alvin Malone, Vernon Rosamond and Floyd Rosamond.

On January 6, 1924 he married the former Miss Mary E. King who survives.

He was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Winona. In addition to his wife, Chesteen leaves two daughters, Miss Juawiece Chesteen of Winona, and Mrs. Maston Ray of Eupora; a son, Jessie Hugh Chesteen of Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Malone, Kilmichael, Mrs. Lelia Bridges of Kilmichael and Mrs. Ella Rosamond, Lambert; a brother, Clarence Chesteen of French Camp and step brother, Everett Burt of Lambert, and nine grandchildren.
