James B. Ware, or Jim to his many friends, was born on December 14, 1941 in Wolfe City, TX, the son of Burnett and Hazel (Mitchell) Ware. He was raised with two sisters, Lue and Diane, and after graduating from high school in Texas, he joined the United States Air Force but was discharged early due to a medical issue. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. During this time, Jim supported himself working at Texas Instruments programming computers. His career would later transition to the Office of the Controller of Currency as a Bank Examiner. Jim was the proud father of a son, David Ware and stepdad to Michael Nofire. When he wasn’t working, he was volunteering to make the lives of others better. Jim was a husband to Sue A. Ware, sharing over 29 years of happy memories and events. Jim had two grandchildren, Travis and Kaylin, and he loved any chance to spend time with them, talking and sharing the day. Jim loved any chance he had to be in the great outdoors, hiking, camping, and sleeping under the stars. He loved history and historical places, often volunteering his services to the Thompson House, where he served as treasurer for 2 years. Jim also volunteered at the Hunter’s Home keeping the computers running and assisting with records. He had an easy going personality so it wasn’t hard for him to make friends. He was always willing to help if he was able, no matter what the request. He was proud of his service to his country and was a member of the American Legion Post 504 in Mesquite, TX. His health began to fail him and Jim passed from this life on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home, surrounded by those who knew and loved him. He was 79 years of age and will be greatly missed.

Jim is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, and brothers-in-law, Phillip Nofire and Ray Andrews.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sue Nofire-Ware of the home in Tahlequah, and his son, David Ware and wife Michelle of Lantana, TX and one stepson, Michael Nofire and wife Debbie of Tahlequah, OK. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Mary Nofire of Welling, OK, and two sisters, Lue Hagen and husband Gary of Lewisville, TX and Diane Belkin of Grandbury, TX. He lives on in his grandchildren, Travis Ware of Baton Rouge, LA and Kaylin Ware of Phoenix, AZ. He also leaves his sisters-in-law, Margaret Nofire and husband Jeff of Tahlequah, OK, Joy Nofire of Tahlequah, OK, Donna Andrews of Welling, Ok, Peggy Girty and husband George of Tahlequah, OK, Brenda Willey and husband Danny of Tulsa, OK, and sister-in-law Carla Nofire of Bunch, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
