WARREN — Betty L. Andrews, 92, formerly of Cortland, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Gillette Nursing Home.

Betty was born Friday, Nov. 2, 1928, to Kiel and Bessie Schofield Trott in Cambridge. She was the last of 13 brothers and sisters, as well as all her in-laws.

Betty attended Wittenberg University.

She married John P. Andrews July 17, 1947; he preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1981.

After her husband’s death, she obtained her Realtor’s license and worked for many years with Jim Ryan and Associate in Cortland, where she resided since 1976.

She was a volunteer at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in the gift shop for more than 20 years.

Betty was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cortland.

Betty was a loving mother, always active in her children’s lives, as a Cub Scout den mother, PTO president, Sunday school teacher or cheering her children on at swim meets or football games. She will especially be missed by her grandchildren, with memories of Christmas cookies brought over to Kent State, summer visits back in Ohio, visits by her to the West Coast to see their plays, graduations and many more.

She is survived by her three children, John (Michele) Andrews Jr. of Cincinnati, Susan (Timothy) Loehrke of Warren and Thomas (Darla) Andrews of Aurora, formerly of Cortland; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Gilger of Howland and Matthew (Anna) Loehrke of Missoula, Mont.; four great-grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Wise and Ben Gilger, and Emily and Grace Gilger of Howland; and by many nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by her “special family,” Curt and Debbie Cunningham of The Villages, Fla., Brent (Sara) Cunningham and sons of London, England, and Troy (Marla) Cunningham and children of New Jersey.

The family would especially like to thank the Staff at Windsor Estates Assisted Living in Champion for the many years of love and care she received, and Gillette Nursing Home for the past nine months.

There will be a private family graveside service to be held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, 330-394-6200. This obituary may be viewed, and condolences sent to www.staton borowskifuneralhome.com.
