Jon Holland, 86, of Amarillo, TX died Friday, January 15, 2021.

A private service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd in Amarillo, Texas. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Jon was born on January 31, 1934, in Olton, Texas, to Bob Holland and Ruby Lain Holland. Jon married Shirley Peake on November 12, 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1955 to 1959. He worked at the Pantex Plant for 36 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Holland; his parents; sister, Joyce Montgomery; and brothers, J.D. Holland and Robert Holland.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Holland; daughter, K. Gail Bollen and husband, Van of Grand Prairie, Texas; sisters, Marylyn Norman of Fort Worth, Texas, Sharon Reeder and husband, Dan of Crowley, Texas, and Yvonne Carver of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Greg Bollen of Grand Prairie, Texas, Terri Bollen of Plano, Texas (and her partner Sandeep), Zac Holland of Belen, N.M., Margaux Holland of Belen, N.M., and Aaron Holland of Belen, N.M.; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Priyanka, and Dev.

The family would like to thank Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home and particularly his nurses, Tiffany and Lawanna for the excellent care of Jon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to a charity of your choosing.
