Mildred Stockwell Blackmon

Mrs. Mildred Blackmon, 89, passed away on February 15, 2006 at Sherwood Health Care Center in Bryan with her family by her side. Funeral services were held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale on February 18, 2006. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. Rev. Barry Methvin and Rev. Calvin Springer officiated. Pallbearers were Billy Bland, Jason Blackmon, Kennon Crowhurst, Rocky Rodriguez, Eddie Johnson and Chandler Rasco. Honorary pallbearers were John Terry Yoakum, S. C. Bland, Nolan Bland and Bob Ressel.
Mildred was born to Harrison Garfield and Mildred Pearl (Simmons) Stockwell on May 6, 1916. She and Floyd Edward Blackmon were married in Rockdale on February 25, 1933. She was a homemaker and a member of Apostolic Faith Church in Rockdale. She loved gospel and country western music and watching T.V. She was the best catalog shopper ever and collected dolls.
Her husband, Floyd Blackmon preceded her in death, as did her son, Floyd Blackmon, Jr.; daughter-in-law Carolyn Blackmon, granddaughter, Gayla Blackmon, great grandson, Heath Wilkerson, five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her son, Gail Blackmon of Lexington, daughter, Joann Hall of Roswell, NM, sister, Betty Kramer of Houston, half-brother, Arthur Stockwell and wife, Mary, of Magnolia AR, two half-sisters, Theresa Bentz and husband, Gene, and Ruby Shier and husband, Jim , both of Magnolia, AR., grandchildren, Tammie Wilkerson and husband, Dwayne of Portales, NM, Pamela Boyd and husband, Mark, of Roswell, NM, Laurie Johnson and husband, Eddie, of Lewisville, Penny Rodriguez and husband, Rocky, of Roswell, NM, Sherri Hall-Crowhurst and husband, Kennon, of Roswell, NM, Sandy Johnson and husband, Jeff, of Hilton Head, SC, Robbie Wiechowski of Hilton Head, SC., Jason Blackmon of Lexington and Dana Blackmon and fiancé, Chandler Rasco, of Waco. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
