William Brown signed for Chelsea FC from Strathclyde in the summer of 1933.
Before he moved to Stockport County the following summer, it is known that he had played 2 games in the London Combination and one game in the Mid-Week League.
It seems that he may have had a brief spell at Dunfermline Athletic prior to actually joining Stockport County, where he played 8 games.
He then moved to Bradford City in 1938, playing 4 games plus 2 in the 1939/40 season.
