Thomas Cates “Tommy” Ford II passed away January 16, 2021 after 81 years old, born October 31, 1939 in Orange, Texas to Don Harrison and Mary Evelyn Dunn Ford. He attended Stark High School in Orange, Texas. He worked in the Oilfield business as a Pipefitter and Welder, he loved welding and creating objects from metal. The love of his live was his daughter Shannon, granddaughter Peyton and Rodeo. He was a member of the PRCA Gold Card member, OTRA and TRA. Serviced in the United States Marine Corp.
Tommy loved hauling his Steer Wrestling Team “Gray and Smoke” to the High School Rodeo to help out the high school kids. He was always there to help anyone in need from pulling bull ropes to helping barrel racers. Sitting at the Texan Café with all his old friends telling and reliving old stories.
He is survived by his wife Linda McChristian Ford; Daughter Shannon Petty Ford; Granddaughter Peyton Lane Oliver; sisters Mary Margaret Ford and Kay Evelyn Ford; step-children Rhonda (Bill) Busby, Randy (Joy) Meador, Raina (Mike Pappas) McChristian, Jaxon & Jett; as well as nieces and nephews, Cheryl (R.B.) Broussard, Chad (Amber) Henderson, Don Ford, Lisa (Troy) Travin, Steven (Donna) Ford and numerous relatives and host of friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Don Harrison and Mary Evelyn Dunn Ford and brother Don Robert Ford.
Pallbearers: Charlie Goodwin, Rusty Davis, Justin Davis, Dan Brown, Jerry Anglin, Huey Campbell and Bubba Miller. Honorary Pallbearer: Norman Curtis
Visitation at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Dr., Huntsville, Texas 77340 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday on January 20th.
Graveside Service (only) at Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 110 Center Hill Rd, Oakhurst, Texas 77359 at 2:00 PM Thursday on January 21st. In case of rain we will move the service inside the Church gym.
