Goldie Marie Shierry, 75, died Sunday (June 3, 2012) in The Woodlands, Texas.
She was born Dec. 18, 1936, in Normal,Illinois, daughter of Ralph and Henrietta Hargis, who preceded her in death. She was a 1954 graduate of Normal Community High School. Goldie married Edward Shierry on Dec. 19, 1954, at the Methodist church in Downs.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Tami (Gary) Laugharn, The Woodlands, Texas.; son, Ed, Seal Beach, California; three grandchildren, Lauren (Dante), Daniel (Rachel) and Alex; sisters, Barbara (Don) Richert, Beaumont, Texas and Becky (Bill) Rouse, Downs; and brother, Ralph, Champaign, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Stilley and Helen Loper.
She lived in Bloomington-Normal area the majority of her life, spent a short time in the Phoenix, Arizona area before settling in Texas. She was a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
