Carol Anne Peters, 70, Enid, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 16, 2021 after a hard fight against cancer. She was born on April 2, 1950 in Kansas City, MO to George and Joe Anna Brown. She graduated from Bishop Miege High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. After graduating from high school, Carol trained in radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, where she also met her husband Gary. Carol and Gary married on August 14, 1971 and moved to Enid to start a family. Carol always stated that her most favorite job was being a wife and mother. After raising her children, Carol worked at Northwest IV Care and Larry’s Home Oxygen, retiring in 2019. Carol was also an active member of West Willow Community Church where she loved to sing with the worship team and to use her gift of hospitality.
Carol is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary, and her children, Lynne Peters of Rogers, AR and Cheryl Peters of Enid. She is also survived by her sister Linda Tabberer of Sand Springs, OK and her brother Rob Brown of Overland Park, KS and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that masks be worn and to practice social distancing.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or Gideons International.
