Paul Dino-Vandyke Cunningham was born November 23, 1966. After sharing an amazing life full of memories with family and friends, he took his final rest August 3, 2020. Paul was a lifelong resident of Mississippi and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, Gulfport, Mississippi.
Paul was born in Laurel, Mississippi to Mr. Colin T. Simmons, Sr. and Mrs., Annie Estell Cunningham Simmons. He attended and graduated from Stone High School in Wiggins, Mississippi and later enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston, where he obtained a certificate in Welding. After becoming a Welder, Paul made the decision to change careers and began driving commercial trucks for many years.
Many would say that Paul was a, "Man's Man". He enjoyed working with his hands and nothing pleased him more than being outdoors. On June 2, 2010, Paul married the love of his life, Mrs. Annie Phillips Cunningham and together they enjoyed a beautiful life with their three children. Coming from a family of working men, Paul found great pleasure in providing for his family. Family meant a great deal to him and when he was not on the road, traveling, spending time with his family brought him great joy. While it seemingly feels that Paul's time on earth was short lived, his family is comforted and finds strength in knowing that to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Annie Estell Cunningham Simmons; and a sister, Kecia Simmons.
He leaves to cherish his life and loving memories, his dad, Mr. Colin T. Simmons, Sr.; his beautiful spouse, Mrs. Annie Phillips Cunningham- Gulfport, Mississippi; a son, Paul Dino-Vandyke Cunningham, Jr.- DeLisle, Mississippi; two daughters, Heather Spencer- Lexington, Kentucky, Tenia Dedeaux- DeLisle, Mississippi; four brothers, Anthony Simmons- Wiggins, Mississippi, Kelvin Simmons- Gulfport, Mississippi, Colin T. Simmons, Jr.- Gulfport, Mississippi, Rodney Simmons- Saucier, Mississippi; five sisters, Velma Lee Husband- Florida, Nicole Simmons, Kris Carter, Misty Simmons, Karen Cloud- all of Gulfport, Mississippi; one grandchild, Cameron Murphy- Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and lifelong friends.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day
