As a young adult she helped care for her nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. As she got older she decided to have a family of her own. On September 19, 1980 Peggy was united in marriage to James (Jim) W Hayes. They made a life on the eastside of Sioux Falls, where Peggy was a stay at home mom to their only child Nicole Ann (Hayes) Dunkelberger. Peggy and Nicole spent a lot of time coloring and baking goodies, sledding and visiting her in-laws for a weekly supper.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Nicole Dunkelberger and three grandsons James, Nicholas Dunkelberger, and Daniel Nevill. Also grateful are her four siblings, Roland Quissel, Spencer Quissel, Patty Benz (Larry), and Carolyn Stevens (Arnold). Along with several nephews and one niece.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, in-laws, husband James (Jim) Hayes, sister Patty Benz, brother Roland Quissel and a niece Teresa Lembcke.
