LYDIA — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Rita Mae “Na-Nan” Rose, 72, the former Rita Frilot, at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church, Lydia, with Fr. Gene Tremie celebrant.

She will await the resurrection at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery in Patoutville.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at the church, with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary.

A native and resident of Grand Marais, she passed away at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a member of Saint Nicholas Catholic Church where she was a member of the Holy Name Society. In addition, she was employed by the Iberia Parish School Board as head custodian at Grand Marais Elementary School. Lastly, her hobbies included sewing, traveling and doing beautiful arts and crafts.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters LeeAnna Hills Cormier of Grand Marais and Ladia Rose Touchet (Kenneth) of Carencro; one son Jimmie Rose (Rebecca) of Shreveport; one sister Jacquline Thompson of Katy, Texas; a special granddaughter Orenia Cormier of Grand Marais; nine grandchildren Paolita Hollis, Dana Addison, Sharonne, Tina, Carmalita, Starsha, Haze and McJason Rose; a host of great-grandchildren; three godchildren Cornell Thompson, Joseph Frilot and Tera Pearson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Haze Rose; her parents, Peter Girault Frilot Sr. and Orenia Boutte Frilot; one brother Peter Girault Frilot Jr.; and one sister Victoria Frilot.

Active pallbearers will be Calvin Frilot Sr., Curles Thompson, Joseph G. Frilot, Paul C. Boyance, Kirmet Frilot, Victor Senegal, Ross M. Frilot Sr. and Brent Vincent.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the immediate family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560.
