Larry Ray Wells was born on January 26, 1942 and passed on January 16, 2021 at his residence.
He graduated from Pineville High School in 1960 and graduated in 1964 from LA Tech with a B.S. in Electrical engineering. He continued his education at Louisiana College, LSU and the University of Michigan. He retired from CLECO in 2002 with 37 years as V. P. of Engineering. Mr. Wells was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a board member and past president of the CLECO retirement association. Past member of several industry and professional organizations including Louisiana Engineering Society, National Society of Professional Engineers, Southwest Power Pool, Southeast Electric Exchange, Edison Electric Institute Electric System and Equipment Committee, and Edison Electric Institute T&D Committee. Mr. Wells had interest in many things including the stock market, walking, car racing, fixing anything that broke and building things.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T. Ray and Dorothy Ford Wells and son, Charles Ivey; daughter, Karla Ivey Rice; sister, Jeanette Douzart and granddaughter, Addie.
Survived by wife of 57 years, Fae Pitre Wells; son, Larry Wells, Jr.; daughter, Dealva Ivey Ables; son-in-law, Tommy Rice; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; niece, Shelia Douzart and nephew, Shannon Douzart.
