Claire passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the age of 70. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00pm in Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs.

Claire Lee Montgomery Watson, age 70, entered into the arms of Jesus on January 16, 2020. She was born on January 20, 1950 in Baton Rouge, LA and grew up in Denham Springs, La. and was a Methodist by faith. Claire was married for 55 years to her high school sweetheart Mike, who she loved and adored. Together they had two daughters and Claire took great joy being a full time mom raising her children. Known as MawMaw Claire, she enjoyed making memories with her two grandsons. She was an excellent cook and leaves many recipes with her son-in-law James, the only person she allowed in her kitchen. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her dogs Sam and Lucy and grandog Tucker. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived her husband Michael Allen Watson, daughter Cathy Sumrall and husband James, daughter Cynthia Watson, her two grandsons Justin and Ian Sumrall; sister-in-law Aline Sanchez, two step-sisters Stella Corley and Barbara Chandler; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friends Eva and Joe Courtney, Amber Font and Gordon and Wanda Shepherd. She is preceded in death by her parents Allie 'Gwen' Montgomery and Sydney Montgomery, in-laws Merle and Allen Watson and brother-in-law Cloyce Sanchez. There will be a private, family graveside service at Seale Funeral Home Evergreen Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff who cared for her in her final days at Promise Hospital and Carpenter House Hospice as well as Eva Courtney who never left her side.
