Betty Martinez, 85, Hurst, TX, passed away January 15, 2021.
Viewing will be during 8:00 a.m. and 5: 00 p.m. beginning Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the funeral home with Deacon Brad Samuelson, officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Betty was born on December 5, 1935 in Eagle City, Oklahoma to the late Tony and Anastacia Ayala. Betty was married to the late Anastacio (Frank/Pancho) Martinez on May 27, 1953. The couple spent many years together before his passing in 2005. She worked at Levis Strauss for a number of years before retiring. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Betty and Pancho enjoyed each other’s company and could be seen at parties dancing late into the nights. At the age of 82 Betty was blessed to be a flower girl at her grandchildren Julian and Angela’s wedding.
Along with her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a son Jessie Martinez; great granddaughter Mia Johnson; great- great grandson Dallas Munoz ; and Betty was the last sibling of Tony & Anastacia’s 16 children.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Erma Martinez, Molly Juniel (husband Bill) and Christine Colbert; Grandchildren, Jose (wife Rose), DeAndre (fiancé Chad), Kleve (fiancé Jennifer), Kenya (husband Curtis), Billy (wife SJ), Joycelyn, Robert, Julian (wife Angela) and Tavon; Great Grandchildren, Jose, Deangelo, Paris, London, Amre, Josiah, Mariah, Justin, Grace, Ricardo, Gabbie, John, Miles, Cedric, Kadee, Ashley, Aliyah, Kaden, Nicolas, Anastacio, Arabella, V’Enzo, Donovan, Jonah; and along with many nieces, nephews and God’s children.
