Kathleen ''Kathy'' Flannigan-Cloud, 43, of Springfied, died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday October 7th, 2001 at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
She was born April 13th, 1958 in Springfield, the daughter of J. Robert & Rosemary Mayol Flannigan.
Kathy was a graduate of Auburn High School, where she had been active in volleyball and track, and where she had been homecoming queen. She was also a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was the captain of the Women's Basketball team. Following graduation, she taught and coached girl's basketball at Taylorville High School, before becoming the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at San Diego State University.
She was preceded in death by her father-J. Robert Flannigan in 1993, an infant brother-John Robert Flannigan in 1951; and brother-Terry Flannigan in 1989.
Surviving are her mother- Rosemary (husband-Charles) Flannigan-Buscher of Springfield; siblings- Timothy (wife-Anne) Flannigan of Cheyenne, WY, Deb Flannigan of Springfield, DeeDee Flannigan of Springfield, Colleen (husband-David) Dunning of Cheyenne, WY, and Patrick (wife-Angie)Flannigan of Pekin, Illinois; 12 nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:15 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Wednesday October 10th, 2001 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South 6th Street in Springfield.
Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 12 Noon Wednesday October 10th, 2001 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, the Rev. Robert Becker principal celebrant. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.
