Ted Howard Smith, 78 of Call, Texas stepped into glory on January 6, 2021 in Conroe, Texas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Jasper County Cowboy Church. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 prior to service.

He was born to Cecil and Elzie Smith on September 27, 1942 at home in Erin, TX.

He loved the Lord and his wife, Ann. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He always enjoyed having family around. He loved to serve from giving away cornmill to heading up the arena team at JC3. He loved the outdoors and was an avid team roper with that left hand, it was like lightning picking up a set of back feet. He loved farming and grew a large garden every year. He loved his horses, cows, and mini bucking bulls. He also loved to be able to teach lessons and good gospel music.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Smith; sons, Greg and Lenell of Call, Scott and Leticia of Call, Mike and Missy of Roganville, Mitch and Theresa of Erin; sisters, Dorothy Collier of Erin, Barbara Barnett of Magnolia Springs; sister in law, Joyce Smith of Holly Springs; grandchildren, Lindsey and Michael Tolbert, Amber Smith and Morgan, Christopher and Anabelle Fazio, Rusty Smith, Kelsie and Brandon Gilley, Courtney and Collin Randolph, Jesse and Ryan Gordon, Jayme Smith, Kaleb Smith, Trent Smith, Wyatt Smith, Christian Smith; great grandchildren, Emma, Mikey, Gabe, Harper, Cole, Hayden, Alber, Almilkar, Josh, Adyson; several nieces and nephews and a host of many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Elzie Smith; sister, Elsie Faye Collier; brothers, Cecil "Pete" Smith, Ricky Smith, Billy Smith, Bobby Smith; and Baby Girl Smith.
