Charles B. "Chuck" McDowell, 78, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg, Indiana. He was born on November 19, 1942 in Circleville, Ohio, the son of the late Bernard Hiram Windfield McDowell and Alma Louise (Davis) McDowell. Chuck was a retired horse trainer and owner of the First Quarter Horse Training in Scottsburg, Indiana and a member of the Mt. Hebron Church near Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition, he was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Chuck was the handler for the quarter horse called Impressive who became the first world champion aged stallion at the AQHA first World Championship Horse Show in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Terry McDowell; a daughter, Kim McDowell and a brother, Larry McDowell. Survivors include a friend and caregiver, Jan McDowell of Blanchester, Ohio. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana and private burial will be at a later date in Green Summit Cemetery in Adelphi, Ohio.
