He was a 1961 graduate of Drew Central High School. The following year, he began a 43-year career with Georgia Pacific Paper Company eventually retiring in 2005. He was a former member of the Meridian Baptist Church in Crossett where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher for many years before moving his membership to the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello.
Danny’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing dominos. He also loved watching Drew Central Pirates Basketball, the Razorbacks, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved his family and if you had a minute or two, he loved to share his hunting stories with you. Danny seemed to always have a smile on his face and was known to some as “the fun Uncle” because he could make you laugh.
In addition to his parents, Danny was also proceeded in death by his five brothers: Adrian, Bobby, Gary, Alvin, & Jack; and his two sisters, Jewel Hargis & Lela Gavin.
Survivors included his wife of 58 years, Glynda Searcy Jordan; one daughter, Tammy Jordan and fiancé Spencer Griffin of Crossett; one son, Mark Jordan and wife Jenny of Bentonville. One sister, Shelby Williams of Monticello, and three Grandchildren: Matthew Jordan, Dirkston Dean, and Jett Jordan. Three sisters-in-laws: Marie, Francis, & Jane Jordan; as well as a host of nieces & nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Pastor David Jacks, officiating. Pallbearers are Jason Savage, Kevin Jordan, Josh Martin, Spencer Griffin, C.J. Watson, and Ryan Watson.
