Mt. Tremper-Bruce A. Wallace died January 24, 2019 on Long Island, NY. He was born November 15, 1953 in Manhattan, son of the late Mary and George Wallace of Corona, Queens. He was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Cambria Heights, Queens. Bruce was hired in 1977 as part of the Queen of Peace Nursing Home custodial staff in Queens Village, NY. He retired in 2013 after thirty-six years of service. Bruce was a parishioner and usher at the St. Francis de Sales Parish in Phoenicia. He was also an auxilliary firefighter F.D.N.Y. Engine 44 and Engine 304. He was an avid sports fan of the N.Y. Mets, and the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed the holidays, especially his lighted Christmas displays. Surviving are his 2 sisters: Mary and her husband Rudy Kolroser, and Barbara and her husband Robert Benny. Two brothers: Thomas and his wife Jeanne Wallace, and Michael Wallace. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his brothers George and William. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday May 10, 2019 at 10am at the St. Francis de Sales Church with Fr. Raphael Iannone as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Rt. 28 Allaben. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.
