Bob was born on Mary 12, 1937, in Newark, NJ, the son of John and Anna (Lemmermeier) Fischer. He was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School and Monmouth College.
On April 11, 1959, Bob married Mary Ann Havens in St. James Church, Red Bank, a blessed union of 61 years.
He was an accountant for various businesses and after retiring became a manager for Hess Corporation.
Surviving besides his beloved wife, Mary Ann are three children, Kathleen Fischer-Handzel, Utica, Cheryl (Steve) Allen, New Hartford and James (Jeannine) Fischer, Jr., Syracuse; brother, Ken (Audrey) Fischer, Sr., New Jersey; sister-in-law, Pauline Satter, New Jersey; grandchildren, Michael (Karie) Fischer, Whitesboro, Christopher (Deana) Handzel, Marcy, Alexander Handzel, Utica, Caitlynn (Brendan) Kehoe, Ballston Spa, Jared (Natalie) Allen, Oklahoma, Abigail Fischer, Syracuse and Gillian Fischer, Syracuse; great-grandchildren, Rylie, Kaidan and Chayse Fischer, Cecelia and Madelyn Handzel and Chloe-Ann Kehoe; Godson and nephew, Ken (Lynda) Fischer, Jr., New Jersey; nephews and nieces, Bill (Kathy) Fischer, Ohio, Tom Shea, Sandy (Eric) Scheuer, and John (Trisa) Satter, all of New Jersey, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles Fischer and Laverne Shea; grandchildren, JohnRobert Fischer and son-in-law, Frank Handzel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
