Alan Wayne Shields, 67 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Alan was born August 10, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Virgil L. and Wanda R. (Cary) Shields and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a sales manager for Finzer Corp. formerly Rotadyne for 47 years. He enjoyed his work and his co-workers. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a Chiefs fan and loved to watch professional wrestling. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra of the home; 4 daughters, Amy Patrick, Callie Shields, Traci Ridings and Jennifer Cotter and husband Bob; a son Alan Wayne Shields, Jr.; a sister, Vickie Fox; a brother, Keith Shields; 14 grandchildren, Dylan, Elizabeth, Dennis, Courtney, Kolton, Trinity, Tommy, Devon, Ricky, Maegan, Zach, Frank, Millie and Ellie; 2 great grandchildren, Kingston and Khloe and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael Shields and a sister, Connie S. Wente.
