Ronald Dean Harrison, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born in Greenfield on June 4, 1941 to Donald L. and Alice Josephine (Lowder) Harrison. He graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1959. He served as a Fire Protection Specialist and Search and Rescue in the U.S. Air Force. Ronald married Judith Kay (Coffman) on December 26, 1964 in Spiceland.

He worked for Chrysler in quality control for 38 years before retiring in 2001. Ron was a member of Wilkinson Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved landscaping and yard work. To his family he was known as The King of the Basketball Court and he played on the basketball team in the Air Force. He loved collecting Native Indian Antiques and he raised quarter horses. Ron also known as "Poppy" by the grandkids loved spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judith Kay Harrison of Greenfield; children, Gina (Jeff) Herfel of Omaha, NE, Tami (Shawn) Sparks of Elkin, NC, Angie (Troy) Bass of Greenfield, and Sheri (Bill) Bednarski of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, Keone, Kimo, Clayton, Harrison, Ronnie, Raegan, Tori (Tyler), Austin, and Sydni; great-grandchild, Baby McKee; sister, Donna Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Harrison; mother, Alice Josephine Harrison; and sister, Janet Harrison.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. State Road 109, Wilkinson, IN 46186. A memorial service will immediately take place following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Ryan McCarty will be officiating. As a reminder, the government mandate requires guests to wear masks and please practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. State Road 109, Wilkinson, IN 46186. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
