Lillian was born in South Bend on September 28, 1924 to Andrew and Margaret (Szigeti) Jambor. She passed away on January 11, 2021. She graduated from the old Woodrow Wilson High school in 1942. On March 3, 1944 she eloped to Falmouth MA and married 1st Lt. Albert J. Hirschler (deceased August 1, 1966) who was on his way to England in preparation for the invasion of Europe. She is survived by three sons, Albert J Hirschler Jr (Kathy) of Dallas, TX, Fred A Hirschler (Susan) of Dallas, TX, and Paul A Hirschler (Liz) of Bryan, TX. She is also survived by four grandchildren Lisa Brown (Chuck) of Dallas, TX, Eric Hirschler (Monica) of Allen, TX, Ayron Hirschler (Carolyn) of Carolina Shores, NC, Frances Mae Hirschler of Bryan, TX, one step-grandson Blake Skinner of Dallas, and three great granddaughters, Amelia and Charlotte Brown of Dallas and Isabella Lillian Hirschler of Allen, TX. Also surviving are four very special nieces Kathy Whitmer of South Bend, Mary Ellen Fisher (Larry) of Noblesville, IN, Cindy Schreiner (Rae) of South Bend, Mary Beth Engle (Steve) of Plymouth, IN. Also nieces Connie Younggreen of Laporte IN, Anne Reitz of St Joseph, MI, and nephews John Jambor (Aimee) of Merrifield, MN, Emory Hirschler (Judy) of Granger, IN, John Hirschler (Susan) of South Bend, John Reitz of Phoenix, AZ, Chris Reitz of Riverside, MI and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sister-in-law Joann Reitz of Green Bay, WI. Deceased are her two sisters Margaret Molnar and Alice Isza and brother Andrew Jambor. On August 30, 1968 She married Leslie D Moore who passed away on January 18, 2003. Lillian resided on Diamond Lake in Cassopolis, MI for 41 years and retired from the Cassopolis School District as a secretary at the Vandalia School. She was the past President of the Hungarian Women’s Democratic Club, Kiwanis Auxiliary and the Covilla Auxiliary. She was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and spoke Hungarian fluently as her first language. She danced at the Hungarian “Harvest Dances” at the Cherry Hall which was the social hall of the former Hungarian Presbyterian Church on West Washington Street in South Bend. She enjoyed meeting and sharing memories with her friends from her high school graduating class and was always the happiest when surrounded by her family and loved ones. It was her wish to be cremated and have her remains interred next to her parents and sisters. A celebration of her life will be scheduled in the future.
