Sue Williams
May 23, 1930 - January 15, 2021

Sue Williams, age 90, of Story, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.

She was born on May 23, 1930, in Amity, the daughter of Norman Issac Huggins and Willia Eulah Harvey Huggins.

On April 11, 1950, Sue married Grady Albert Williams who preceded her in death on September 18, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Wade “Sonny” Huggins; and her sister, Frankie Lou Ziegler.

Sue graduated from Amity High School and lived most of her life in Amity. She began working for Indianapolis Glove Factory in 1953 and retired from the same company, Shelby Manufacturing, in 1994. She was a member and very active in Midway Missionary Baptist Church. In 1998, she and Albert relocated to Story and attended Story Church of God. In 2013, after Albert’s health continued to decline, he moved to the Montgomery County Nursing Home and Sue moved to the Montgomery County Assisted Living to be close to him. For the next three years, Sue made the trip between facilities daily to be with Albert. While a resident there, she planted and maintained beautiful outdoor flower beds that were admired by everyone. Sue was a great cook and enjoyed crocheting, creating many afghans that she shared with friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Rob Edington of Mount Ida; her brother-in-law, Ronnie Ziegler of Hope, Indiana; and her nieces, her nephew and many cousins.

Private services will be held at Big Fir Cemetery with Bro. Roger Harper officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Big Fir Cemetery Fund in Sue’s memory, c/o Luther Snow, 58 Washed Out Drive, Mount Ida, Arkansas 71957.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Montgomery County Nursing Home and Montgomery County Assisted Living for the excellent personal care they provided during the time Sue was a resident.

Arrangments are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
