Mrs. Wilson passed away January 14, 2021 in Rusk.
She was born October 12, 1932 in Rusk to the late Elbert and Gladys Sowell Riggs.
Mrs. Wilson worked at the Cherokee County District Clerk’s Office and later retired from Rusk State Hospital; following retirement, she spent her spare time as a florist with Betty and Joe B. Lusk.
Mrs. Wilson spent her time passionately teaching kitchen secrets to her grandchildren and visiting with family and close friends.
She was a faithful and active member of the New Faith Church where she was awarded “Oldest Mother” on Mother’s Day consistently.
Last but not least, Memaw loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and watched them with youthful enthusiasm anytime they were on TV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Kenneth Wilson, brother, Elbert Riggs Jr., and sons-in-law, Johnny Dotson, John Odom, and Grady Ayers.
She is survived by sister, Marianne Harcrow and husband Chris, daughters, Kandyce Dotson, Robynn Ayers, Cyndi Roberts and son-in-law Nat Roberts, and step-daughter Connie Wilson Pasho, grandchildren, Kenneth and Alison Dotson and children Allen and Cassi, Nikki and Justin Duke and daughters Melanie, Heather and great-great grandson Holden, Emily Raiborn and husband Josh, Jacob and Jennifer Dotson and children Gracie, Hayley, and Katie, Amy and Ricky Kelsey and children Tristan, Braden, Lauren, and Colton, Nathan and Krystal Roberts and children Aniya, Natalee, Kamden, Andy Ayers, niece Dawn and husband Mike Ward, great niece Marlee Nelson and husband Josh and numerous other nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Pallbearers will include Braden Kelsey, Ricky Kelsey, Tristan Kelsey Justin Duke, Neill Holcomb, Mike Ward and Kenny Birdwell.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the funeral home.
