Ricky Pierce Sr., 61, passed away peacefully December 11, 2020 with his loving family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Clinton with details to be posted when decided. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Ricky was born February 7, 1959 in Piqua, Ohio to George and Mary (Miracle) Pierce. It wasn’t long after he graduated high school when he married the love of his life, Mary Vogt in Barbourville, Kentucky on July 10, 1978. The couple spent more than 40 memorable years together. Most of his life was spent in Clinton where he and his wife raised their three children. He moved to Coralville in 2018.

He began his career as a Truck Driver which he continued to do for 25 years and retired in 2017.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, football and being with his family.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Mary of Coralville, IA; his son Ricky (Christina) Pierce of Fremont, IA; his daughter Misty (Kevin) Moy of Pensacola, FL; his stepmother Marylon Pierce of Fort Wayne, IN; his nine siblings Dennie Pierce (Becky) of Iowa City, IA, Donna Blakley (Eddie) of Clinton, IA, David Pierce (Jaretta) of Rush Springs, OK, Coy Pierce of Clinton, IA, Joe (Elizabeth) Pierce of Ft. Wayne, IN, Tammy (Kevin) Parke of Fort Wayne, IN, Jack (Karolyn) Miracle of Clinton, IA, Tim (Myrna) Miracle of Clinton, IA, and Tom (Barbara) Miracle of Clinton, IA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex (Breanna), Mike, Lillie, Lexie, Anthony, Cassie, Sydney (Dan) Guiter, and Marcus (Danielle) McDougall. One great grandchild Gable and many extended family members and friends whom he loved so much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Holly; brothers Eddie, George Jr. and Randy; sisters Sheila Pierce, Catherine “Louise” Rice and Tonya Pierce.
